Go-Biz releases application schedule, approval timelines, and available funding levels for California Competes Tax Credit program
$231 million will be made available for California businesses creating and retaining jobs in the 2020-2021 fiscal year
Businesses in California can now begin planning for the next rounds of the popular California Competes Tax Credit Program (Cal Competes). According to the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), there will be three upcoming rounds of the program with $231,135,999 in allocated funding.
Per the announcement, Go-Biz set out the following timelines and allocated funding for the 2020-2021 fiscal year:
For eligible applicants, awards are based on 12 unique evaluation factors, which include the number of full-time jobs being created and/or retained, amount of capital investment, and strategic importance to the state or region.
